Step 1) Finding an image

So, to start out I need an image to create the reflection, I'm going to use an iphone for this one, you can use whatever you like, this works out really well with icon and typography.

 

 

Step 2) Changing the background color

Now I am going to pain the background black and duplicate the iPhone layer.

 

 

Step 3) Manipulating the reflection

We are going to select the iPhone reflection and we are going to flip this around so it looks upside down and place it right under the original. To do this go to Edit > Transform > Flip Vertical and place it under the iPhone as you see below

Step 4) Adding a layer mask

Time to make the reflection more realistic. On the iPhone reflection layer we are going to add a layer mask to it just by clicking the layer mask button.

 

 

Step 5) Applying the gradient

Now we are going to apply a gradient to the layer mask. This will make the reflection look more realistic.

Select the gradient tool, and using the color black apply a gradient from the bottom up until you get  a good result like the image shown below.

Step 6) Changing the Opacity

Now to make it look even cleaner we are going to lower the opacity of the reflection layer to 75% and we should have a nice looking final reflection
